Besides conducting, Davide is passionate about multidisciplinary projects and bringing music to new audiences. He has been involved in several projects as arranger, facilitator and producer.
As part of his Pettman DARE Fellowship at Opera North, he developed their first Orchestra Camp, giving the chance to hundreds of young musicians to spend a week playing in rehearsals and concerts with the Orchestra of Opera North.
Commissioned by Opera North Education, this is a performance specifically designed for schools, featuring highlights from well-known operas arranged for wind quintet and solo voice as part of Opera North’s work with schools.
With text written by Ursula Holden Gill and arrangements by Davide Levi.
Opera at the Mill
In partnership with Trouble at Mill and the West Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra, Opera at the Mill is a series of opera performances aimed at bringing opera to new audiences in an informal setting. Taking place in a disused textile mill in Farsley, Leeds, Opera at the Mill allows audiences to experience semi-staged performances of renowned operas up close, while enjoying drinks and a meal.
A highly creative venutre that enabled first time opera goers to enjoy an art form outside of its traditional settings.
“ In 20+ years of opera going, I don’t know when I’ve enjoyed one more. You’re breathing new life into this wonderful art form”.
